1 lb.  lean ground turkey

2 T.   liquid smoke

1       egg white

1       clove garlic, minced

2 T.   hickory-flavored barbeque sauce

2 T.   onion, finely chopped

1 t. salt

½ t. black pepper

Nonfat cooking spray


  1. Mix together the turkey, liquid smoke, egg white, garlic, barbeque sauce, onion, salt and pepper.
  2. Shape into 4 patties. Lightly coat the grill with cooking spray and preheat for 5 minutes.
  3. Grill the turkey burgers for 7-8 minutes, or according to your preference. Pass with your choice of accompaniments.

Serves 4. 1 burger = 5 oz. protein
